Pickling and Passivation OF VALVES



 

Pickling

Pickling is the removal of heavy, tightly adherent oxide film resulting from hot forming, heat treatment and welding.  Scale can be removed by chemical methods. 

The treatment is applied by spraying or by paste. Industry standard: ASTM A-380-99.

 
Barils are cleaned according to the technical specifications and procedures of AECL CANDU for cleaning and passivating nuclear components.
 

Passivation

Passivation is an essential treatment that gives stainless steel more resistance to corrosion.

Steel has its highest resistance to corrosion in the passive state.

It is imperative that you do not use equipment that has been freshly sanded, stripped, machined or mechanically polished without prior passivation.

 

We have different sizes of tanks to accomodate your needs.
